Walk like a toddler

Things have been pretty good lately. Last Saturday I went shopping with Holly (my sister) and Aleister (my nephew). Been feeling the baby urge quite a bit lately, and Aleister just made it worse. At one point Holly set him down (out of his stroller) and said, "Where's Aunty?" and he ran through the store until he found me. He also spent about five minutes making us laugh like crazy as he flirted with the waitress at the restaurant by standing up, giving a naughty giggle then pulling his legs out from under himself and landing on his butt, over and over again. He's just so damn cute.

Want. Baby. SOOO. Much! Must! Wait! Until! Married! Gah!

Ahem.

I managed to fix the typos on three chapters of my novel this past weekend. I meant to keep doing that during the week, but I'm having trouble answering all the email I need to answer, let alone spending any extra time at the computer at night. Sigh.

The rest of this is about my workouts, so if that stuff bores you, you can stop now :-)

Well, I can finally walk normally again today. Monday night, I did the Legs workout of my new routine, and this time, unlike 4 years ago when I was doing a similar split-day weightlifting thing, I didn't skip the lunges.

I hurt immediately after doing 2 sets of 6 (3 x 6-8 recommended), so I stopped. Maybe I'm doing them wrong? I did 6 on each leg, not 6 total. Anyway, the end result was shaking legs Monday and walking like a toddler, unable to predict where my feet were going to hit the ground, Tuesday and yesterday. Oh, and my hips hurt like hell.

Today I'm much better, probably mostly because I soaked last night in Epsom salts and water so hot I almost passed out. I can walk normally and it only hurts when I flex those muscles.

I think next Monday I'm gonna do 6 total for a set, just to be on the safe side.

Otherwise the new workout is going well. I like the fact that I can feel it when I'm done; it tells me that it was time to change (the old routine didn't faze my body anymore) and that it's a good choice. Except for those damn lunges, of course.
