Not really too much to say here, other than I finished Chapter 15. Finally! Yay! This is the first whole chapter I've written on the novel since I kind of left off last year, so I'm definitely feeling back in the flow. I'm also all proud of some of the stuff I came up with in this chapter; there's some Cool Shit going on, and it wasn't even planned ahead of time. Awesome.

The key seems to be not reading. I finished the Nancy Farmer YA book, A Girl Named Disaster earlier this week, and I wouldn't let myself start another book. It makes it hard to go to bed (I like to read for a bit when I get into bed), but it means that I'll choose to write on BART instead of read, which makes those words pile up, slowly, oh, so slowly, but surely. Today I had to sit on the floor to be able to write, and someday here I'll not be able to do even that much and I'll be forced to start reading a new book, but until then, I write.

It's amazing what a mood elevator just finishing a chapter is. It's almost like completing a story -- not better or worse, but akin to it.

I can't wait to find out what it feels like to finish a whole book. Whatta rush that's got to be!
