A Cross-section of songs

I have had an entirely exhausting, if somewhat emotionally rewarding, time caring for my nephew, Aleister for 22 hours straight. I slept maybe 4 hours last night. I am incapable of much coherent thought...

So, a meme!

1. Open the music player on your computer.

2. Set it to play your entire music collection.

3. Hit the "shuffle" command.

4. Tell us the title of the first ten songs that play (with their musicians), no matter how embarrassing.

My list:

Title/ Artist/ Album

1. The Darker Days Of Me & Him/ PJ Harvey/ Uh huh Her

2. Cloud on My Tongue/ Tori Amos/ Under the Pink

3. All My Little Words/ The Magnetic Fields/ 69 Love Songs, Vol. 1

4. Is This What They Used to Call Love?/ The Magnetic Fields/ I

5. Bliss/ Tori Amos/ To Venus and Back

6. The Commander Thinks Aloud/ The Long Winters/ Future Soundtrack

7. Adam and Eve/ Ani DiFranco/ Living In Clip (Disc 2)

8. This is How it Goes/ Aimee Mann/ Lost in Space

9. Purple People/ Tori Amos / To Venus and Back

10. W-I-F-E/ The Old 97's/ Wreck Your Life

This list tends to reflect the fact that the only music artists I've ever been obsessed about was Tori Amos (about 10 years ago) without revealing the diversity of my Tori collection. It also accurately depicts my preference for female singer/ songwriters. The irony of the title/ theme of the single Old 97's song -- the first band Tim introduced me to -- is not lost on me. Susan gets credit for introducing the both of us to The Magnetic Fields. I'll claim Ani and PJ on my own, though they were most likely introduced to me in college by someone such as my very hip roommate April. I have no idea what #6 is and I'll have to investigate its presence in my iTunes when I'm more awake. Ah, perhaps it is from a political mix I bought in the months before the election.

G'night.
