Too Tired to Talk
Previous Entry :: Next Entry

I was so tired this morning that it was hard to speak. Tim said something to me after the alarm went off and I just lay there, unspeaking, unwilling to speak, too tired to move. He repeated himself, so I said, "Too tired to talk." so he'd know I wasn't mad at him or ignoring him. To my utter dismay, he said, "What?"

Gah.

I'm still drag-assing my way through the day, despite two cups of coffee and a shower (not in that order). I could easily fall asleep, possibly even sitting up, if I just closed my eyes.

The thing is, I'm not sure why I'm so tired. I went to bed on time. Coffee has been consumed. The only thing I can think of is that my feet have hurt since Tuesday's jogging thing, and the fact that I've continued to abuse them (their opinion, not mine) and that my body is still sore, is making me so tired.

Wednesday the foot-abuse came in the form of Mac World, which I got a half day off to go explore (well, the exhibit hall). Very cool. I wished I had a camera so I could photograph the rows of people lined up under the "Hot Spot" sign with their apple laptops. I annoyed the people at the Delicious Library booth -- the woman I spoke with told me that once you scan a book, it pulls up the entry from Amazon. "What if Amazon doesn't carry it?" "Oh no, they carry everything." "Can you enter a book in by hand?" "No, Amazon will tell you the info." Gah! I'm not entirely sure she's right about not being able to enter things by hand, either.

Anyway.

I ended up buying an incredibly cool backpack from the STM booth. I got the sport model, which includes such features as a suspended laptop case in the middle of the bag (so the flat laptop doesn't hit against your curved back, and so that when you set the bag down, the laptop doesn't hit the ground), lots of pockets (including an iPod pocket with a flap for the cord to come out, though I have trouble not getting tangled up in cord when I try to use it the way it was intended), a padded back... It's truly the niftiest backpack I've ever owned. It even has a hip strap (which I like b/c it's much easier for me to carry weight on my hips than on my poor shoulders). Very fancy. I can't wait to travel with it (though I've been using it every day this week, I've yet to put my laptop in it).

ANYway, the reason my feet hurt from the convention is because I foolishly wore a skirt and tights, and the tights were thinner than the socks I usually wear with those shoes and made my feet slip around and rub. Also, I just walked around a lot. It was very tiring, and I was hobbling by the time I was done.

And then I went and worked out last night, though I did cut it a bit short so I could do the steam room w/out making Tim fuss over having to wait. Also, I just didn't want to workout as long since I was in such pain.

However, in better, less foot-related news, I am definitely going to be finishing that story up today. That's a whole story in a week! Huzzah! It's a short story, but I'm fond of it. And I even have an idea for next week's story -- it's a HORRIBLE idea, dreadful, laughable, but I kinda like it in it's pulpy awfulness. What the hell. I mean, really, if I'm going to write this much, I can't expect every idea to be a gem, now, can I?
