Last night Tim and I went to a rockin' good party at Night Shade Books (aka Jason Williams' house). In addition to Jeremy Lassen, who is one of my favorite party people with the way he drops f-bombs and generally livens up the joint, in attendance were Sharyn November (whom I'd never formally met before) and Ellen Klages. Very nice to get to sit and talk/ listen to folks hold forth on everything from Siamese twins to YA books. We stayed much later than we'd intended to, just because it was so goddamn fun. It even got rowdy later on, though my photographic evidence is all from very early in the party. For those of you who wanted to see my new highlights, the first picture is me at home, and I think they're shown to good effect in that shot.

Today, we woke up late, lazed about, ate eclairs and Tim made chili (so the house smells wonderful). Holly and Aleister came up to feast with us, and I got to hear all about Holly's recently grad school audition (for world dance) while Ali watched the latest season of Big Cat Diary. The chili, it was the yum. Tim's like an artiste when it comes to chili. Wow.

Holly and I looked at enough family photos later that Ali was crying for us to stop: "I've seen enough pictures now. Hey! I've seen enough!" Heh. I guess you really don't care what your great-great grandmothers looked like when you're four years old.
