Note to baby: come out come out!

Since yesterday's ultrasound showed the baby Sunny side up, I took some of the advice from the website Haddayr recommended (thanks!) last night and today. (Now, my knees hurt too :-) That site suggests that some of the pain I'm feeling might be *caused* by the position of the baby, which makes sense to me -- he's really low, head on my bladder, back against my back, causing lots of pressure and constant pain. Bleah. This is day 4 of this kind of pain, by the way -- I'm clearly not really in true labor yet, but I've had four days of being really uncomfortable and in more or less consistent pain. This SUCKS.

Oh, wow. And, I just had a big contraction to remind me that yes, I sometimes get random, big contractions. Those really hurt. Those are all like, "Yeah, you *say* constant pain, but you have NO IDEA if you think those little cramps are Pain, lady! Mwah ha ha!"

Yes, I'm anthropomorphizing my contractions. I should get Greg to doodle them for me so I can burn them in effigy or something. Not that I usually want to burn Greg's doodles. Ok, I'm on a tangent. Sorry, mind wanders after pain...

Oh, yes, I was whining. ANYway, I decided to get off my ass and had Tim take me up to Berkeley so I could try swimming for half an hour to see if I could get the baby to turn that way. I used the kickboard for most of it, though I did one lap of freestyle, and I think that might have been more productive than the other 15 laps I did (yes, it took me 30 min to do 15 laps, if I counted right; I'm very pregnant). I didn't have a cap or goggles, or ear plugs, which I like to use when I put my head in the water so I don't get horrible ear infections.

Gods! Tangent! Anyway, I *think* he turned. Maybe. Not that the pain has entirely gone, because he's still sitting on my bladder (well, doing a headstand on it), but it's better? Maybe? I dunno anymore. I just know that I'm really fuckin' sick of being so very, very pregnant and this kid can be born just as soon as possible, thank you very much. I'd like to get onto the snuggling and cooing and breastfeeding and dressing him in the many adorable outfits part now.
