2006-05-11 3:44 PM Seriousness Alert The Man sent me this quote today:
There was something in the sky: a lumpy sort of mass, like a statue the size of a ship. I walked towards it, and it drifted towards me. When it got closer, I could tell that it was indeed giants and that they were orbiting. From what I could tell, they were a man and a woman, who looked as if they had been carved out of stone a long time ago and weathered down. They were pressed together: the woman looked as if she was going to float off into the sky, and the man was being pulled down towards the ground; so long as they were together, they floated in the air. -- from Neil Gaiman's Mirrormask I keep going back to my email and reading it over and over and with each reading it becomes more true. I have never known another person with whom I am so well matched that we keep each other in such perfect balance; without him I truly would float away and I know that he needs me to keep him from getting stuck on the ground. We have endured so much - at each other's hands and those of others - yet this balance always remains. I have no particular point in mind here, simply to share what is on my mind today. Wherever my mind wanders, I keep returning to this image and I find it to be comforting.
