Finding Helena

Some of you may know that I’ve been feeling a little disconnected lately. There have been so many difficult situations on so many fronts that I haven’t quite known what to do about them and I was starting to lose touch with who I am. I was becoming a conglomeration of problems rather than a person.

This week I got back in touch with an old friend. And while it was somewhat unexpected, and therefore had me feeling a little discombobulated at first, it has really helped to remind me of who I am.

Now I am looking forward to spending next week at the cottage in Canada with my husband and kids – nothing I have to do, nowhere I have to go. And now that I have been reminded that I am still me and not a pile of obligations and stressors I feel I can really enjoy it. So - thanks, you out there. You know who you are.

I may be able to write from the road, but if you don’t hear from me, assume that I am floating on my back on the lake, watching the clouds go by, enjoying peace and quiet with the ones I love.
