2008-04-11 1:23 PM Nobel Prize I don’t know what category my award consideration falls under, but I have discovered the cure for the flu.
I was going to dedicate this post to Rhoda. Isn't she the one who soothed her moods with ice cream? Hmmm, maybe that was Lucy. Nope? Jackie O. Nope? No matter. I bought four different pints of ice cream, which I always thought was the worst thing to do with the flu, and binged. Before buying the ice cream I emailed a friend and this is what she suggested: Hot water, lemon, garlic, cayenne pepper. Yeah, like right. I’m all over it. Serve it up neat. Anyway, I s-w-e-a-r to you I've never done anything like this before, the bingeing that is... unless you count bingeing on four different brands of Vodka. (I made that up, kinda.) I bought the good stuff. Hagen Daz & Starbucks: Coffee Café, Peach Sorbet, Carmel Cone, Turtle Tracks – set me back almost $20 and was worth every penny. I didn’t eat dinner. All I did was binge on ice cream and went to bed with some Tylenol PM. I awoke the next day and my fever was broken and my throat didn’t hurt. But since I live alone and am not inclined to talking to myself, I didn’t realize my health was fragile until I got a phone call and my voice was still thin. I s-w-e-a-r to you though, my fever and sore throat did not develop into my normal dreaded head cold/flu. The only thing I did different was to binge on ice cream. So… who’s gonna nominate me?
