2008-08-10 11:16 AM The Daze of Summer I was going to post one huge entry and call it Daze of Summer, but decided to break events into vignettes.
This has been one of the best summers of my life, one of the worst… but in reality, the *worst* has been tiny little annoyances that my pea brain has made too big. :) I love my life. It ain't perfect, but whose is, hobble-hobble. :) My mother survived. Obviously her bad health was the real *worst* of this summer. Death tried to swoop her away after her bowel perforated and near lethal infections invaded her body. Her surgeon, interestingly enough, gave all credit for her recovery to God. I’m of the old school thinking that remembers when doctors thought they were God. Anyway, my mom’s doctor is as stunned as the rest of us that she survived. My mom is as giddy as a young girl – has no clue how close death visited. I continue to call her every night and am filled with gratitude. David, my baby, visited, which was the best of this summer. His primary mission was to make contacts in Nashville and to meet with people at Vanderbilt. He’s a veryveryvery lucky young man that there are so many people who support his dreams, his ambitions. I can’t afford to send him to law school, so he's considering various scholarship approaches. When he became a part of TFA, he had no idea there were hidden perks. He had no idea the doors the association would open. He's wary of student loans… many of you would agree, so he's looking into options that I will reveal at a later date. Very exciting stuff! So that’s about it for this post and the photos I want to include. Argh. The photos are too *big* for the page. I need to fine-tune my skills with this new camera.
