Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to me!

Yesterday my beloved Aunt & Uncle drove down to the mountain through pea soup fog to take me to lunch. The Good Lord knew I needed more than one mother, so he gave me Aunt Jean Carol. She's Southern through and through despite being born a Yankee. I tell people I was born a Yankee but got here as fast as I could. She did too. LOL. I call her my bonus mommy. :) She’s 77 years old and the real deal. Her face is hers and her hair is hers. The family gene pool dipped into some sort of Fountain of Youth. I think she’s amazing – clichéd, but true, inside and outside.

Today a gaggle of friends is taking me off the mountain for lunch and laughter. [Stace: Cowan has become quite the preferred off-mountain destination for the likes of us and academia, because of its reinvention as a town with art galleries and fine dining. Who woulda thunk.]

This evening a friend is taking me to the last remaining fine dining establishment on the mountain at the moment. [Stace: Pearl’s was vandalized by arson a few weeks back and due to reopen soon.] Our destination is High Point, purportedly the highest point between Chicago and Miami. The massive stone structure was built by Al Capone for his *honey*.

This evening I will post again with today's 365 Envisage - with a canvas of friendship and frivolity! After all this fine dining, I’ll have to waddle to my computer.

xoxo
