2009-10-20 5:48 PM Additionally An addition is going up on my home because an addition is also moving in. My 83 year old mother is moving in with me December 1st. I'm thrilled, she's thrilled. To make this possible, I decided to add an apartment, which will give us each plenty of space. When all is finished there will be about 650 sq. ft. for my mother. This includes the adjacent guest room to my home, which will become her bedroom. Mom will have her own full kitchen, a bathroom with handicap dimensions, and a large 14 x 25 living room. The addition is level to the rest of the house with no steps, and will also have a separate entrance. I never lose sight of how fortunate I am. I have enormous gratitude for the kindness of my life.
Though my mother is a lunatic, she's my lunatic and I love her. We are amidst grand plans to have some of the adventures she's never been able to have. Other than visiting me, mom has never traveled. So we're scooping up all our travel points and cash points and an unused airline ticket and I'm going to rent my house out for Sewanee's graduation (I get big bucks for that) and we're going to take a cruise that will depart from Barcelona. We are tickled to no end. Stace: Bill Mauzy is my contractor and graduated from Sewanee some time around the years you were on the mountain. Do you recall him? Not only is is a nifty person, he's won more honors/awards in TN as a General Contractor. I was lucky he took on my pint-sized job. So, here's what's happening.
