Writing a book is an amazing journey. Do it! I have one published non-fiction book... but the book that took me to never-never-land is an unpublished fiction book I wrote a few years back. The title was the hook that everyone loved: editors, agents, publishers. And the premise was superb. It was the writer that stunk... or is it stank? It was a fine book with lots of the angst one finds with emerging authors. The title was The Night the Moon Cried. Great title. So-so book - though I loved every single word - and still do. Bex, I loved the people in my book. I literally lived and breathed with an intake that imbued me with the life of my characters. They became family - all the family I loved or hated or gossiped about or coveted or adored or cherished... I LOVED MY CHARACTERS. Have you ever read a book that seems like the author didn't know how to end it? Of course you have. We all have. It's awful. It drags on and on, and then drags some more. I know this because I fell so hard in love with my characters... I didn't want to end the book. That might sound odd, but it's true. Yet, I did end my novel and felt such an incredible surge of joy and remorse bundled together. I now understand why sequels were unfortunately invented. Anyway, thanks for your comments at TS's. I find that most my writing is a responsive thing and I responded/reacted to your comments. xoxo Read/Post Comments (7) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
