2013-02-15 10:02 AM The Rise & Fall of Books Below is a link to a project my friend Jake is doing. He produces documentaries - amazing intelligent films and I am always so pleased to support him when I can. His current project is particularly dear to me because it's about books. Before the link is my email to Jake.
***** What I will do for a COOL T-shirt! Great project, Jake. I have such a passion for hard copy books. I never realized my haphazard stacks were considered art, but that's exactly why I've built stacks for years... they've been aesthetically pleasing. A sidebar interest in this project is my family's far-reaching connection to Cornell. My former father-in-law, Albert Bean, was a huge supporter of Cornell and my youngest son is a 2007 graduate. Additionally, there is the David Richard Bean Scholarship that sends quite a few students to Florence each year for its art. The Beans were also significant contributors of the new performing arts center. Bravo for this project. Though the Cornell connection is nice, the impetus for my assist is my passion for books and that I'm having trouble letting go, literally.
