2013-11-22 10:51 PM A Friend Visits As seems the pace these days, I'm behind on your posts and comments. I apologize and hope to catch up soon.
Below is a link to a post I didn't write. It's a beautiful gift of words describing important elements and people in my life - written by a dear friend. Prior to her posting, I'd written brief observations of my day and our time together: Rarely does a perfect day come along... and today was one of those rare days. A dear friend and mentor visited. She lugged groceries and conversation into my home. We chatted and chatted... then she handily took over my kitchen (barking orders every so often for me to sit!) and served an absolutely fabulous delicious yum yum lunch. No one has ever done that for me before. Much to my GREAT surprise, I think I could get used to it! I tend to be awkward with such kindness... so I thank her ever so much. I want her to know that I recognized the gift of her precious time as a most precious gift. I love, love, love being in her orbit. There's been a lot of talk recently about *service* and today she served me so well, so kindly, and with so much love. As she left, walked down my sidewalk and vanished around its concrete curve, I felt momentarily hollow & sad... but I was tired, and turned, went indoors and rested... enveloped in sweet gratitude.
