2014-03-07 10:56 AM I have an Askew! The other night I attended a wonderful fundraiser at Mountain TOP - a destination that is close to my heart. It's located in Grundy County, the poorest in TN.
For 30+ years Mountain TOP has been serving the community with day camps, home repair, programs for teens at risk... and soooooo much more. It's a happy, hardworking destination. There was a silent auction and I was the luckiest person ever, ever to acquire the painting below by one of my favorite artists - Bob Askew. The painting is of Morton Memorial Methodist where I participate in corporate worship and community outreach. The congregates of Morton are especially adept at both. I've never met a community quite like it. I've never felt so loved or useful. Anyway, the moment I became the new steward of this fine painting, I knew I wanted to make sure a special someone in my life would have it someday. This won't require a fancy codicil to my will. I know my children will honor my request. This gives me so much pleasure on so many levels. I hope to enjoy my Askew for many years... and now know it will be passed to someone I love and who will enjoy it too. xoxo Read/Post Comments (6) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
