2014-11-22 8:15 PM Just Watch Me! I'm very tired tonight. Had one of the most perfect days.
After two days of heart-wrenching, grueling, exhausting processing of Thursday's crushing news, I've recovered my ground and standing tall and firm and determined and happy. I want to continue to live my life *healthy* instead of living my life *sick*. We are all born taking our first breath; we all die taking our last. We all should l-i-v-e as fully as possible between the two. As I've continued to compile my journal entries, today I came across a sentence written not too long ago. It references a portion of my transplant evaluation at Vanderbilt the last week in September. Dr. Lambright, the lead transplant surgeon, said, "You're not even close. You're in great shape. Continue what you're doing." And this is what I plan to do. I emailed Vanderbilt this morning and have a hall pass to get back on the treadmill. Just watch me. **** You all are my heroes, my safety net. Your comments are an amazing affirmation of my belief in positivity. (Yeah, yeah - I know. My tiara slips every so often.) There are so many cliches I could steal, but you are truly my inspiration - and I thank you. You all are precious to me. I know many of my friends fly under the radar and don't comment. I know who you are and I thank you, too. Special thanks to Karen, Tom, Maggie, Nora, Anna, Lisa, Daisy, Eric, Talking Stick, Cathy, Sandy, Teri, Babs... and so many more. ***** Humor and ordinary observations return tomorrow. Especially after receiving Nina's 2015 A Year of Chickens calendar. Sentimentality and hope and happiness and determination reign tonight.
