2015-03-08 6:47 PM *POP* *POP* I've watched two Stephen Hawking biographies today, which was good medicine for me. I've had two tiny disappointments, but because my life is tiny, disappointments can become huge until I pop them and they go away.
I rarely go to our community's First Fridays but really, really wanted to go this past Friday because Jim & Lee were hosting - they were responsible for the beautiful Bridal Shower I hosted for Olivia. Being left behind is sometimes difficult. Out of earshot of the laughter and fellowship can be sad, lonely. My lungs are hardening, I don't want my heart to harden, too. Have also a started a new book club. It's difficult for me to host or travel to others' homes anymore. I proposed a plan, but it just wasn't going to work. So I started a new group! The first book we'll be reading is: The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics by Daniel James Brown, It has rave reviews. Every single day I know I'm a lucky shut-in. Despite my tiny disappointments, I have far too many good things and good people to brighten my days. Not one day goes by that I don't have gratitude for my beautiful life. Well, and there's nothing like watching two bios featuring Stephen Hawking to heal the superfluous. *POP* *POP* Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
