Cradled in my Heart

I acquired something special yesterday. I pinch myself with the good fortune of my discovery.

Thus far my body has defied the timeline of my prognosis, but I'm pretty certain I'll miss the joy of future grandbabies. Little makes me too sad anymore. I have a beautiful life and I'm okay with unimportant dreams. I can easily live with the fact that I'll never see Venice or Paris or return to Morocco. Pffft.

But not being able to cradle David & Olivia's babies in my arms... well, that's knotted my heart with sad moments.

That was until yesterday.

The cradle in the photos has been on the Cumberland Plateau for about 100 years. It's handcrafted of cherry wood... there are no nails. It's a beloved family heirloom that has waited for a newborn for many years. The owner realized it was time to move on - allow the cradle to become another family's heirloom.

So, there you have it.

In years to come I will, indeed, be cradling my grandbabies.

I'm the luckiest woman in the whole world ever ever.

Love.
