2015-03-28 1:18 PM Mr. Bean Goes to Washington My youngest, David, is a Officer in the US Army JAG Corps.
His first assignments focused on lots of meat & potato law of the civilian world - Wills, Power of Attorney, Divorce. Then, unexpectedly, he was tapped to join a fairly new area of representation in the Corps... Special Victims. After additional training at the JAG School in Charlottesville, VA, he became a member of a small group that counsels Special Victims. It's the ugly side of humanity. It's not for sissies. David advocates for victims of sexual assault - adults and children. I think my son is amazing. Last night he called and calmly shared some news that thrilled me to no end - seriously. Thrilled! I was not calm. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and David will fly to Washington DC to attend a Congressional hearing regarding the military and sexual assault. David will be representing the Army Special Victim Counsel program and answering questions regarding current improvements and developments to combat the problem of Sexual Assault and to support/empower victims. Is this cool or what! As always, thanks for stopping by. Love. Read/Post Comments (16) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
