An acquired taste. His wife is an amazing ceramicist. I have two of her pieces. H: Lady in Red The provenance of this one is a bit tricky - I think this is a most splendid painting. One of my very favorites. B: Red Truck See below K: Dancing Still Life I so enjoy the playfulness of this painting. It gives me smiles every day. D: Bridge Club For me, this is *classic* Outsider Art with the skewed perspectives and whimsy on a slab of plywood. F: Amos This is an original as are nearly all pieces in my collection. Prints of it were advertised in Home & Gardens in the 1950s. C: Ice Cream Stand A fairly recent addition. I swoon for all its charm. The *canvas* is rusted roofing tin. G: Hotel California Acquired when I first started collecting. Its simplicity takes me to complicated (and lovely) memories. J: Log Cabin Purchased from a gallery in the valley below the Plateau where I live. A local artist. Tones of solitude that spoke to me. I: One of Three This is my 50 cents canvas. I actually have a trio but deconstructed the installation to make room on my walls. :) ***** Many of these are favorites of mine... though I have many, many favorites. Red Truck is a crowd pleaser. I also have Yellow Truck. There's lots of really awful stuff on Ebay, but I scroll through every so often and that's how I discovered Sonny - the 70 year old woman who paints these trucks. She lists them for $100 or Best Offer. Both times I've offered $100 - I couldn't bear to pay less. In a NY gallery they would easily sell for 4 figures. That's about it with art at the moment. Thanks for stopping by. Love. Read/Post Comments (8) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
