I'm part of a research study at GWU, as of today.
A couple of weeks ago, I answered an ad in the WaPo Express about participating in a research study re: GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder). I'm certainly not an extreme case, but I do worry more that I need to about all kinds of things. Today I went for my health screening. They did an EKG, a blood and urine test, and just a general health check. I spent an hour with "Dr. Kenny," a really nice guy, who asked me tons of questions about me and my 'condition' to make sure I qualified for the study. Turns out, either fortunately or unfortunately, however one wants to look at it, that I do qualify. I will go back in a couple of weeks (as soon as the last remnants of Paxil have left my body) to be given this new drug or a placebo to take for the next 12 weeks. I'm not getting paid for the study, but they do re-imburse my travel expenses each time, with $25 cash/money. Seeing as I only spent $1.35 on the metro to get there, I will pocket a little cash. This should be interesting. Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
