Is it trite or true to say that this has been the best Christmas ever? For me, it's true.
Oh sure, it could have been better if I could somehow be in four places at once (Suburban VA, 2 miles from DisneyWorld, close to the Riverwalk, and the great city that was the birthplace of my Fab Four). But being only in one place, this was a pretty good place to be. We had mashed potato cinnamon rolls (reminding me of my baby bro' Ted) and the gift exchange would have been "Sherry-approved" as each one of us watched patiently as each of us around the tree unwrapped each gift singly and wonderfully. Then, a gourmet dinner courtesy of my son-in-law #1 and his father. I delighted in giving my 6th grandchild a bath! Then watching his sisters fall asleep, exhausted, the visions of sugar plums had danced the final dance not only in their heads, but in reality. Walking home tonight, a complete stranger wished me "Happy Holidays" as the streets were as deserted as I'd ever seen them in our nation's capitol, my home. Yes, God bless us every one.
