2002-07-01 9:51 PM The Week of Hell Begins Mood: Exhausted |
I'm extremely tired, so I'll make this short (and I mean it this time). Today was the first session with Geoff Ryman as instructor, and I can tell already that this is going to be a rough week. While the critiques were honest and fair, he didn't pull any punches. I think this is part of the break-you-down section of the build-you-up, break-you-down, build-you-up cycle, which is really, at this point in the game, what we need to hear. We're going to have to push ourselves as writers this week.
Plus Geoff is tall. Very tall. I'm at 6'-3" and I have to look up to talk to him. I'm not used to that. It's intimidating. Not much else happened today. A few of us made a quick trip to Meijer's, and since I had a car, I was one of the ones who drove. The rest of the day was spent just hanging out and doing critiques. And since I have two more stories to critique, and I can barely see straight from extreme lack of sleep, I'm going to sign off now while I still can. Goodnight, all you beautiful people.
