Man, I need to get more sleep. I've been staying up the past couple of nights reading Harry Potter, and I'm already halfway through the book. But the lack of sleep makes the work day crawl by. Guh.

I got an email from Professor Barnhardt today with some comments on chapter 1 of An American Symphony (which I was not expecting, since it's so rough), and an invitation to join his novel-writing workshop in the Spring. Yay! If I decide to use the novel as my master's thesis, this class will give me a good jump start on it. Gonna have to start flexing my novel-writing muscles again.

And Barnhardt's comments were very Clarion-esque, pull-no-punches, get-right-to-the-point. This is a good thing. I've come to expect quality critiques of my fiction from my writer's group, the Clarion gang, and Janet, so I'm glad Prof. B is going to use the tough-love approach as well.

And I got invited by some co-workers to the Carolina Ale House tomorrow evening for happy hour. Yay! The Ale House is a really cool place, and just up the road from my apartment.
