I finished Cory Doctorow's Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom last night and really enjoyed it. It's truly excellent. Excellent excellent excellent. Very Bitchun. Long live Whuffie!

Class was more exciting last night, but maybe that was because I participated a whole lot more. The time certainly went by faster.

While waiting for the night service bus last night, I stopped into the Record Exchange and went on a bit of a spree, snapping up Mary Star of the Sea (the debut album of ex-Smashing Pumpkin Billy Corgan's surprisingly upbeat new band, Zwan), Songs for the Deaf (the newest album by Queens of the Stone Age, to whom Foo Fighter Dave Grohl loaned his drumming talents), and The Best of the Corrs DVD, which I'd had a helluva time finding, and wasn't sure would ever be released in the US. They gave me a lot of freebies too, which was nice, and something the big chains never do. Then I went to Borders and got Pattern Recognition by William Gibson. I've been pretty good about book and CD and DVD buying lately, but every once in a while, I feel the itch to get some new stuff. Luckily, it doesn't happen often anymore.

Got my reviews polished up and sent off last night to GMR. I'll post the links here when they go up on the site.

And with the hecticity (no, not a real word) of my life over the last two weeks, I was surprised that I accomplished nearly everything I set out to do this week. I have yet to read Mike's novelette for Cup-a-Prose tonight for simple lack of time, so I'll have to pound it down right after I get home from work this evening in time for the meeting at 7:00.

I'll be so glad at 5:00 tomorrow. I really need the weekend right now, time to sleep for a few days solid and not worry about anything big. Maybe I'll head to Ri Ra for a pint or two.
