An excellent excellent excellent writing session tonight. Went over to Borders after roast pork lo mein for dinner, downed a cafe mocha, and got the entire first half of the novel outlined, all eight chapters. Woo! It's a damn good feeling. It's got a good momentum going now. I have some ideas where I want the second half to go, but I'm not sure. I'll run it by the Cup-a-Prose guys next week, since we didn't meet this week due to inclement weather.

Also also also, after turning in my review of The Tain Wednesday night, I got an email from Grey Walker (the book reviews editor), who liked it so much that she wanted me to expand it to include some comparisons to Mieville's other works and maybe some discussion about his use of reflection imagery. I did that tonight as well, and I'm pretty happy with it. I've been told that Mieville himself is looking forward to my "in-depth" review. No pressure, huh?

Tomorrow is scour-the-apartment day, where I'll ruthlessly chase down dust bunnies and round them up. It's been a while since I've done a thorough cleaning of the apartment, and it really needs it. And hopefully, I'll be getting together with Jamie tomorrow night or Sunday. He enjoyed the new version of "One Big Crunch", which he'll be illustrating for The Dream Engine, and I'm anxious to hear his ideas for the artwork. Plus, it's just fun to get together and hang out with him.

I need to get a few stories ready to send out tomorrow. I'm thinking of sending "Snake Charm" to Strange Horizons, "Going Home" to Dreams and Nightmares, and "Little Miracles" to On Spec. Gotta get that submissions total back up.
