You don't often get a chance to see real delight in someone; like a child viewing Christmas lights or the smile of an infant seeing its parents.
If you do, burn that image into your memory, and lock it away for a gloomy day. Hold onto it as long as you can, cherishing it like a jewel, for those days when you feel run over by the world. Mostly driving around work during lunch, with some exciting trips to parking structures, and sidestreets for practice. And the happiness of "getting" the instruction and being able to drive independantly without a teacher has really made them excited. As they gain confidence, I can see the joy they have in their new skills. But the surprising thing is, when I look into the mirror, the delight is mine.
