Seems a little colder today.

Everyone around me, including me, is a little more distant, a little more isolated.

Can you feel the chill?

I get a little more detached from it each year, but it's not your fault, even if you're a little colder right now too.

You'll probably come out of it.

Dunno if I ever do.

Every little scar makes me a little harder, a little icier, a little more stone-like. It's OK. I'm tougher that way.

I don't mind, really. It's like having an old friend return. It's comforting in a way. Feelings are scary.

It doesn't really matter why though. Never does. I just pull my jacket in a little more, try to leave nothing exposed.
