No person in good conscience should believe that creating an extra-legal area for the purposes of "safety" or "security" espouses the values that this country was founded upon.

"Due process" as set up in the 5th Amendment is not just a convienance to be discarded at a whim, but a moral statement on how society should be properly run, and what should be valued as a people.

It is a democratic statement that demands leading by example, not hypocritically saying one thing and doing quite another.

If we want the world to follow our values in any way, shape or form, we must stick to them ourselves.

Anyone who feels that an area entirely controlled the the US, but yet entirely outside of the protection of the US Constitution and the normal systems of law, is a good thing, should be opposed vigorously.

On that note, I applaud anyone in the Republican Party in Congress who is brave enough to stand up to the current administration and say, "This is wrong."
