Once more into the breach dear friends . . .

After a hiatus of too many years, I'm once again heading down the path of the serious writer. Some may call me the victim of "The Clarion Curse," where a writer attends the Clarion West Science Fiction Writer's workshop and then stops writing all together, but there are other reasons as well. While Clarion did teach me that I'm competing with some seriously talented individuals, it also showed me that I really didn't know myself well enough to engage in the solitary practice of creating stories.

This will be my log on this new voyage, and despite the singularity of my direction, I'm sure I'll slip back into the old habits of column writing. I hope, at least, to entertain.

I'll be back soon and we'll start into the serious meat. Until then,
