2004-10-20 10:57 AM The Politics of Fear Yeah, that's what Bush said about Kerry's recent campaign speeches.
Really! I couldn't make this shit up. He actually urged his voters to "reject the politics of fear" at the ballot box. Well hells bells. Okee-dokee Georgie-Porgie. We'll do just that. We'll reject the politics that says there a terrorist cell in every neighborhood, ready to kill us, and because of that fact, we should give up our fundamental freedoms and principles and give law enforcement powers that are blatant violations of the Constitution. We'll reject the politics of fear that send us up and down the chromatic rainbow of threat warnings, while the odds of anyone in this country being killed by a terrorist are less than the odds of being hit by a drunk-driver. We'll reject the politics of fear that point fingers to imaginary WMD's. We'll reject the politics of fear that say Kerry will make the country more vulnerable to attack, when he's the only candidate who's actually led men in a combat zone. So Mr. President, thank you for the advice. Your wisdom, for once, is sound. Come election day, we'll be more than happy to reject you. Joseph Haines, signing off from The Edge of the Abyss.
