The Edge of The Abyss

I just received my contributor's copy of the February issue of Thirteen Magazine which contains my short story, "Scratch."

Included in the editorial was this comment from the editor, Andrew Hannon: "February's winning story is Scratch, written by Joseph Paul Haines. It combines great dialog, a great idea and one of the most stomach turning paragraphs I have ever had the pleasure to read!"

How can a writer not love that?
