2005-06-01 6:23 PM The Good and the Bad You know, getting stories out into the marketplace is a good thing. The more stories I have out, as a rule, the less I obsess about the wait time. It's easier for me to just get on with it and write the next story when I've got twenty stories in circulation than it is when I've got oh, say five.
On the other hand, I don't usually receive three rejections in the same day when I only have five stories in circulation. (And yes, they are already back out.) Take the bad with the good, I guess. On the writing front, I'm in the middle of a challenge with a writer friend of mine. We're writing fifty flash stories--twenty-five each--as quickly as we can get them out. The only catch is, we have to use the last word of the others latest story as the basis for our next piece. So far, we've written four a piece over the last five days or so and there's no slowing in sight. I'm targeting one particular magazine (the editor knows who he is, or at least he will by the time next week rolls around) with each and every story I write, until I finally sell him something. Hey, I'm a writer. I take my fun where I can get it. :-) Joseph Haines, signing off from The Edge of The Abyss. Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
