I haven't heard anything about this from the Channel yet, and it's not like I'm in their loop about anything - far from it.

But AICN is reporting that the second night of Galactica was the highest rated program the Channel had in 2003, and its third highest ever. More to the point, it increased its ratings over the first night, meaning that word of mouth after part 1 was good enough to pull in more people for the second night.

I certainly liked it. See my review on Strange Horizons next week. Also, if you missed it, they're running it all in one four-hour block on Sunday. You should check it out. Based on this I wouldn't be at all surprised if they went to series with it.

Of course they could probably do entire seasons of Crossing Over with John Edward, Scare Tactics, and that godawful reality show about people living with geeks that they're pushing now for the cost of half a season of Galactica, so who knows.
