Ah! Plague and Madness!!

I don't know why my journal is always the canary in the coal mine, the first thing to fall over when the atmosphere is less than perfect, it's sensibilities shaken by the slightest defect, wait, no, that's the Police.

But I'm going mad nonetheless. Too much big change all at once, even change I very badly wanted and needed. I'm all twitchy.

Basically, Vancouver Film School came through with a scholarship offer. Not a full one, but a quarter scholarship, which will help greatly considering both Elisa and I are going to be unemployed for a year.

But it also means that my program begins May 3. All of a sudden I have to be living in Vancouver in about 60 days. So we've been going nuts, throwing out junk, getting a realtor to list the house, getting VFS paperwork in order, figuring out how to get ourselves and our cat across the country, sell my car, how we're going to move the things we're taking with us. Dear God, this is scaring the hell out of me. And probably will until we get there.

I have been managing to keep writing - that being the whole point of this exercise after all. I shipped off something for the Zeppelin antho like everyone else. Now I'm in the process of revising another story to editorial request, which is good. More news when that process is resolved.

And I've been digging through the third season box set of Angel for a SF Weekly review. Good stuff there. But mostly I've been going through closets and the basement with the ruthless eye of a serial killer, throwing things away lest we have to pack and move them.

I've also been noticing how much rain falls in Vancouver. I made a chart, which I'll probably post to Peshlon before long. Scary stuff.

All in all, things are in a frenzy here.
