Well, that didn't last long. The for sale sign is still out in front of our house, but it's coming down tomorrow. (We put it out there just long enough to get the neighbors all worked up, and now they'll be horribly confused.)

Elisa's stressors were getting the better of her, and since she's the one I rely on when I'm freaking out, that's not good. So she announced today she wanted to postpone the listing until we're actually gone. That way we could pack and clean in peace instead of having to have the whole place in open house condition for this weekend - which was looking real, real unlikely. That way people could tramp through the place all they want once we're gone, and everything should just go a lot more smoothly.

I thought it through and couldn't see any reason not to let her do it. It's not like we have to have the money right away - we're going to be staying in a hotel for a while in Vancouver and we may end up not buying out there at all. Our realtor is going to have to handle the closing for us, but that probably would have been the case anyway. That way the minor work we're getting done could be finished instead of us having to continually explain to people that we're fixing that. And yeah, my efforts to pack stuff were taking the house farther and farther away from showable condition with every box I opened.

So the house will go on the market around the first week of April now. Everyone keeps telling us it's going to go like a bullet. Hopefully by the time we get to Vancouver we'll have a handful of offers to consider, and we'll be able to start worrying about other things.
