Woke up early this morning to take Ben to his first day of school. Last night, he was not happy. He wanted to devote his life to finding the person that invented school and murder him/her. I explained to him that whomever this person is, that he/she is likely long since dead, since school has been around for at least a hundred years.
Turned out Ben was really only worried about the fact that he has a new teacher, and he wasn't sure if said new teacher would be mean. Well, once Ben got there, he joined a group of boys all saying hello and how was your summer, and a big smile crossed his face. We saw and briefly met the new teacher. She seems very sweet. Later in the morning, our DSL crashed, and I had to come into Pleasanton, which is halfway between Tracy and San Francisco -- 30+ miles from home. Which meant that I had to miss my guitar lesson. I wouldn't have worried about work so much, but there are only three of us working this week (normally six), and I just started a new project. DSL Tech Support said to wait about four hours. Ugh! Well, it only took two hours, but I already came in by the time I found out, and it was too late to make mu guitar lesson. I also got my haircut this morning... Here's the thing, though. We will be going to my Aunt's funeral tomorrow. She lost her battle with cancer over the weekend. That's going to be really hard. There was a viewing today, but I'm not up to that. I really want to remember Aunt Mary before she got sick -- youthful and vibrant. I know she's with the angels as I type this. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
