I picked up Ben from school. We walked in around 3:15 or so. I had just told him that all five cats were in their usual places. Leo and Sam on the master bed. Willow on the back of the front room sofa. 8-Ball in the office on my vacated chair. And Cosmo walking around looking for food. At least, that's where they were when I left the house.

As we walked inside, we heard the unmistakable panicked meow of Cosmo coming from down the hall. Ben went looking for him as the intensity of the meows increased. He got to the bathroom, and there was Cosmo, trapped behind the glass door of the walk-in shower.

Let me see if I can describe the shower. As you come into the bathroom, if you look immediately to your right, you will see a wall, with a half-circle opening cut into it near the top. The shower is on the other side of that wall. There were some Christmas figurines sitting in that half-circle opening.

My best guess is that Cosmo managed to jump from the decorative bench we have sitting against the wall, up to the opening (maybe a four foot jump), where he knocked one of the figurines over into the shower. Then, he either jumped or fell into the shower. It's about a seven foot drop, and though he wasn't hurt, he had no way out.

Ben opened the door and let him out, and he shot up the stairs and ran under the bed, his tail puffed up like a bottle brush trailing behind him.

He's fine now. He was fine by dinner time.
