To set this up correctly I need to give you some information. I live half a block from the firestation in my local borough. (Now you know why I act like an animal sometimes. I live in a hole in the ground. Borough...get it?).
I have this ratty old 25x50 shed on the back of my property next to an alley. It was half fallen down when I purchased the property. I wanted to tear it down but the borough says no. It is zoned historical. Now I for the life of me I couldn't figure out what could be historical about a ratty old shed so I did some research. Apparently it was built in 1918 along with the house as a chicken coup. It has gone through some other functions through the years but the historical aspect comes during the prohibition era. I found out that it was used as a speakeasy for the guys at the firehouse during that time. So I can't tear it down because it was an illegal bar. That is funny. Wonder if the borough will give me a liquor license to reopen it? Read/Post Comments (4) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
