Well, went to another wedding yesterday. Didn't have to worry about designated driver this time. It was a "dry" reception. And you know what? Everyone said they enjoyed it more because it was dry. It was totally refreshing. No booze. And I thank god for this one. NO macarena, NO chicken dance, and NO YMCA. I have begun to hate receptions because they have all become clones of each other. This was completely different. Refreshing is all I can say.
And the church was great. It was a 30x50 foot building from 1846 on a small country road called Beaver Dam road in the Applachian mountains in central Pennsylvania. The attendance last sunday was 19. It had a small steeple with a small bell that was rung by pulling a rope. A simply charming place.
And the people were completely friendly and down to earth. Nobody was there to put on airs. They dug out their sunday best ( which isn't much) and came out because they wanted to show that they cared for these two people that were being married. It couldn't have been more perfect.
