2005-02-03 10:16 AM WINTER WONDERLAND Mood: peaceful Read/Post Comments (0) |
It is snowing again. But I am not complaining. It's beautiful. All of the tree branches have small piles of snow laying across their branches as if the snow thought it was a blanket meant to keep the tree warm from winter's bitter cold. I am almost inclined to think that the trees feel this way too, for even with the breeze not one single branch moves. The trees stand stoically still as if the trees themselves fear losing their blanket of fluff. On my walk to work today the whole world was so peaceful. Perhaps it was silent reverence to the miracle of the weather. Even my bookbag that usually is so loud with my keychains and pins banging and rattling together seemed to hardly make a clank in the winter wonderland. Even when it did clink the sound was muffled by the falling snow. The loudest noise I heard the whole walk here was the flakes hitting a few leaves that refused to fall and still clung to their branches. It sounded like pins falling on a tin roof. A strange sound for leaves and snow but the gentle clatter was simply background music for the dancing snowflakes that fell from the bright gray sky.
