So I'm listening to the radio today and the news guy said that several schools have made policy that forbids the children from playing tag, kickball, or any other "chase games." The administration said they implemented these rules because they were afraid that the a kid would get hurt and the parents would sue.

First off, you will never ever ever ever get six year olds to not chase other people. It's what most six year olds do. There are still going to be little boys chasing girls with dead frogs, little girls chasing boys trying to kiss them, and why ever else little kids chase each other.

You know WHY little kids like to chase each other? Cause its fun. And guess what else? It's good for them!! ((Gasps from the crowd, it's amazing, I know.)) And all that excersize is good for their minds too. Exercize raises endorphants. Those make you happy. They also help with learning.

OH MY GOSH! Something kids can do that's good for their health, emotional state, AND their minds?! Of course we can't let them actually DO IT. They could fall down and bump their head! And we can't have that! Poor little darlings! They are the tomorrow!

Who wants to make a bet that this same administration is the same group of people who can't figure out why kids are overweight.

Let me explain. Even if the kids WANT to run and play and be merry, they aren't allowed! Just let the kids PLAY!

KLN

"I for one, have never left off playing and I wish that there were more time to play. I wish we did not have to fritter our time away on frivolous things like lectures and literature, time that could be given to serious, solid and constructive work like cutting out cardboard figures and pasting colored tinsel upon them."
