2004-10-18 12:05 PM my favorite non-RPG games Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Contemplative Read/Post Comments (4) After a discussion this weekend about games, I realized that my access to lesser known games (through free stuff! :) ) has allowed me to play a lot of great games that many other people have never heard of. So, I decided to put together a list of my favorite (non-RPG) games. These are all board games or non-CCG card games.
1. Grave Robbers From Outer Space Card game You make your own B sci-fi horror movie, while using monsters to kill off people in other players' movies. The 2 best cards in the game are "We've Seen Your Breasts and Now You Must Die" and "The Bookish Girl With No Boyfriend" :) Also in the B-Movie series which are fun: Cannibal Pygmies in the Jungle of Doom, Kung-Fu Samurai on Giant Robot Island, and Bell-Bottomed Badassses on the Mean Streets of Funk Details/Review: http://www.rpg.net/news+reviews/reviews/rev_5130.html 2. Battle of the Bands Card game You put together your own band and try to get gigs and a record contract. Details/Review: http://www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/10/10510.phtml 3. Plague and Pestilence Card game Try to build up the population of your city before the Black Plague hits Details/Review: http://www.rpg.net/news+reviews/reviews/rev_2816.html 4. Zombies Board game Try to make it to the helipad and escape before the zombies get you. It comes with zombie figs - how cool is that! :) Details/Review: http://www.rpg.net/news+reviews/reviews/rev_6438.html 5. 8th Grade Card game I'm not quite sure how to describe this game... You put together a group of kids and try to make it through 8th Grade. Details/Review: http://www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/10/10044.phtml 6. Guillotine Card game You win this game by chopping off the heads of the nobility with the highest points and get other players to kill the Piss Boy :) Details/Review: http://www.rpg.net/news+reviews/reviews/rev_4589.html 7. Testimony of Jacob Hollow Card game You win by either being the only survivor or being the first to solve the mystery of the horror in Castle Bay.
