2004-11-03 10:34 AM Apology to the International Community Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: numb Read/Post Comments (1) I will rant about the outcome of the election in a later post. Right now, I'm trying to channel my anger into something constructive. I fear that the reelection of Bush is a sign to the international community that we, as a nation, approve of Bush and what he has done in the last 4 years. Not only that, but we expect and hope for more of the same.
Yesterday, one of the women I work with told me that citizens of other countries wrote a letter to the citizens of Ohio, asking them to vote for Kerry. What if we were to now write a letter to the international community, to make it clear that not all of the United States agrees with Bush? That nearly half of us wanted him out. I'm sure they see the statistics of how we voted, but this might have more impact. Bush will either do nothing to repair our relationship with them or proceed to make it worse. It's up to us. I'd be willing to build and host a site for it, but I'd need someone to write it. Thoughts? Is it a bad idea to undermine him now that we're stuck with him for 4 more years? Is it a stupid idea?
