If you read my journal regularly, you probably know that I'm a big supporter of breastfeeding. I've always been surprised at getting such negative feedback from people for doing what's well known to be best for my son.

This has been a good year for scientific support for breastfeeding. Earlier this year, the AAP released new guidelines for breastfeeding and now there's a new study that in addition to the benefits to the child and reducing the mom's risk for breast cancer, ovarian cancer and osteoporosis, it may also reduce the mom's risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
