At my appointment 4 weeks ago, the baby was still transverse (sideways) where he'd been for months. Since I'm getting close to the end and he'll be running out of room to turn soon, I was hoping he'd turn on his own. Well, he did turn. The wrong way. I kind of suspected when I woke up this morning and had this round, knobby bump sticking out right under my ribs. I knew it had to be his head.
So between now and my appointment in 2 weeks my midwife wants me to use some techniques to get him to turn. 3 times per day for 20 minutes each, I'm supposed to put the ironing board with one end on the couch and the other on the floor and lie on it with my head down and feet up. I'm also supposed to hold a heating pad under my belly and a cold pack on top of my belly so he'll turn towards the heat. Sounds weird, but apparently it works! Luckily, she said he still had plenty of room to move, even though I only have 7 weeks to go. These stubborn Figueroa men! He's not even born yet and he's already a pain. ;) Read/Post Comments (8) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
