False labor and a little whine

I've been having false labor for over a week. This is no fun. I am so uncomfortable, particularly my hips. I feel old before my time. The most comfortable position to sleep in for most of my body is lying on my right side, but when I do that, my left hip starts aching. When I finally change position, it makes the most horrendous cracking noise going back into the correct position. The only way to make my hips feel better is to spend awhile walking around, but in that position Alex is in prime position to press down right on my cervix, which is even less comfortable.

On the upside, I had another ultrasound on Thursday because I was concerned that he wasn't moving as much. Turns out I'm just so used to him being so incredibly active that normal active seems slow to me. In order to be sure the baby is moving enough, they want you to be able to count 10 movements in no more than an hour. I have always been able to count on 10 movements in under 2 minutes. So I got worried when it started taking 10 minutes to count 10 movements. Yeah, that's 5x as long, but still only 1/6 the time he needs to make that many movements to be ok. So, everything looks good. He's in good position (hence the pushing on my cervix) and they could see him practicing breathing and everything. I got a picture of him and I could see his chubby little cheeks. :) They estimated him at about 7 1/2 pounds, so if he holds out until his due date that puts him in line to be about the same as his brother who was 8 lbs 10 oz.
