We had our first play date on Saturday. Marcelo thinks it's such a yuppie idea, that kids should just "go play", not have "play dates". It was a little weird, but fun anyway. I got to meet the parents of some of the other kids that Marc goes to school with. There were 3 other kids about his age, and all of them had younger siblings about Alex's age. It was at his friend Olivia's house (He calls her Olivula because he can't pronounce Olivia. hehehe)

I felt a little out of place, having never done this before. They provided lunch and snacks for all the kids and parents and it left me feeling like I should have brought something. Things are so much more complicated than they were when I was a kid and you just ran next door to play with whatever kids happened to be running around! But Marc had fun, so it looks like we'll be doing it again, and probably hosting one, too.
