Alex started waving last week. It's so cute. :) He started by just holding his hand up at someone, palm out. Now he's evolved to actually waving and usually smiling while he does it. Over the weekend, we went to Disneyland and had dinner at Goofy's Kitchen. It's a restaurant on property where the characters come around to the tables to say hi to the kids. Minnie stopped at the table and gave Alex a "kiss" and he waved at her. :) It was adorable!

He's also started clapping in the past few days. At first it seemed that he was just clapping his hands together, but this morning Marc was watching Baby Mozart and at the end, there's applause. When Alex heard the applause, he clapped along.

I can also tell that he recognizes more things than he can do. He's been saying "mamamama" and babbling like that, not really meaning anything. I think Marcelo feels left out a little because he hasn't said "dadadada" yet. So, this morning when Alex woke up, I was snuggling him in our bed. Marcelo had already left for work and Marc wasn't up yet, so I was trying to coach Alex. I said "Can you say dada?" and he smiled and looked over at where Marcelo usually is in bed when Alex wakes up.

Also, I can tell he recognizes at least some of the sign language I've been trying to teach him. I've been starting with just "milk" (for nursing), "water" (for a drink), and "food" (for a snack or baby food). If he's hungry and I ask him if he wants milk and do the sign, he watches my hand and gets all excited.
